Forward-Facing Installation

TypeLATCH Installation

Figure 1 illustrates a typical forward-facing LATCH installation.

Always use in upright position in forward-facing mode. See page 11.

important! Verify that your vehicle is equipped with lower anchors. If lower anchors are not installed, you must use vehicle belt installation methods (see pages 26–29).

1. Lift up cover from seat and remove the lower

hook strap and lower hooks out of the rear-facing

belt path OR from the storage slots (Fig. 2). Pull

hooks through forward-facing path (Fig. 3).

2. Press and hold the lower adjuster release

5. Kneel on the restraint to push it into the vehicle seat while pulling the lower hook strap tight (Fig. 5).

6. Install tether as instructed on pages 32–33.

7. Verify that all connections are secure and the restraint is stable. A secure restraint should allow no more than 1 inch of side-to-side or forward movement at the belt path.

then attach the left lower hook to left lower

anchor in desired seating position (Fig. 4).

Pull on lower hook to confirm attachment to

lower anchor.

4. Verify that the lower hook strap is not twisted,

then attach the right lower hook to right lower

anchor in desired seating position. Pull on

lower hook to confirm attachment to lower

anchor.
