CalibrationEquipment should only be used by Trained Personnel.
If thisequipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the
protection providedby the equipment may be impaired or safety hazards may
arise.
Inspect the instrumentfor damage before each use. DO NOTuse the instrument
if itappears damaged or operates abnormally.
Before initial use, or after transport, or after storage in humid or semi-humid
environments,or anytime the instrument has not been energized for more than
10 days, theinstrument needs to be energized for a “dry-out” period of 2 hours
before itcan be assumed to meet all of the safety requirementso f theIEC
1010-1. If the product is wet or has been in a wet environment, takenecessary
measures to removemoisture prior to applying power such as storage in a low
humiditytemperature chamber operating at 50°C for 4 hours or more.
The instrumentis intended for indoor use only.
BURN HAZARD
High temperaturesmay be present in this equipment. Fires and severe burns
may result if personnel fail to observesafety precautions.
The furnace generates extremetemperatures. Precautions must be taken to pre-
ventpersonal injury or damage to objects. Probes may be extremely hot when
removedfrom the furnace. Cautiously handle probes to prevent personal injury.
Carefullyplace probes on a heat resistant surface rack until they are at room
temperature.
DO NOTlift the back of this instrument with the equilibration block in place.
The equilibration block will fall out of the instrument.
DO NOToperate near flammable materials. Extreme temperatures could ignite
the flammable material.
Use of thisinstrument at HIGH TEMPERATURES for extended periods of
timerequires caution.
DO NOTtouch the well access cover of the instrument, it is extremely hot.
Forcompliance with IEC 1010-1, it is recommended that the cutout mode al-
waysbe set to the manual mode requiring user intervention to reset the
instrument.
Takeextreme care in handling hot probes. The extreme temperatures generated
in a furnace of this typecan cause seriouspersonal injury. Do not touch them
on externalsurfaces of the furnace or set them on any other surfaces unable to
withstand those temperatures. A fireh azard exists.Do not touch the access tube
end plate or severeburns can result.
