Turning the Camera on and Off

Shooting Mode

Press the Gbutton to turn the camera on. The lens will extend and the lens cover will open.

Press Gagain to turn the camera off.2Tip: Switching to Playback Mode

Press the abutton for about a second to start play- back. Press the shutter button halfway to return to shooting mode.

3Cautions

•Forcibly preventing the lens from extending could cause damage or product malfunction.

•Pictures can be affected by fi ngerprints and other marks on the lens. Keep the lens clean.

•The Gbutton does not completely disconnect the camera from its power supply.2Tip: Auto Power Off

Playback Mode

To turn the camera on and begin playback, press the abutton for about a second.

2Tip: Switching to Shooting Mode

To exit to shooting mode, press the shutter button halfway. Press the abutton to return to playback.

The camera will turn of f automatically if no operations are performed for the length of time selected in the MAUTO POWER OFF menu (pg. 88; note that OFF is not available when an option other than nPOWER SAVE is selected for SPOWER MANAGEMENT or when Ris selected in Omode). To turn the camera on, use the Gbutton or press the abutton for about a second.

Use this option to display pictures in the correct orientation in the monitor. It has no effect on pictures displayed on a computer or other device CIMAGE ROTATE The next time the picture is played back, it will automatically be rotated DPROTECT Protect pictures from accidental deletion.
