KUsing the Flash (Super Intelligent Flash)

2 Focus.

Press the shutter button halfway to focus. If the flash will fire, Xwill be displayed when the shutter button is pressed halfway. At slow shutter speeds, 0will appear in the display to warn that pictures may be blurred; use of a tripod is recommended.

3 Shoot.

Press the shutter button the rest of the way down to shoot.

CCaution

•The flash may fire several times with each shot. Do not move the camera until shooting is complete.

•Pressing the flash down turns off the flash.

Red-Eye Removal

When Intelligent Face Detection is active (pg. 74), and ON is selected for aRED EYE REMOVAL in the setup menu (pg. 97), red-eye removal is available in V, U, and Zmode. Red-eye removal minimizes “red-eye” caused when light from the flash is reflected from the subject’s retinas as shown in the illustration at right.
