Troubleshooting eIf you think the camera is faulty, check the following once more.

The Photography mode is set to Auto,
Scene position or Manual.
iThe flash is not popped up.
iYou pressed the Shutter button while the
flash was charging.
iThe batteries run out.
iThe camera is set to Scenery in Scene
position mode.
iContinuous shooting is selected.
iSuper Macro mode is selected.
Scene position mode is selected.
Continuous shooting is selected.
iThe sensitivity is set to 800 (high-
sensitivity photography).
iThe Continuous shooting option in the
photography menu is set to “Long-period
continuous shooting”.
iThe subject is too far away.
iYour finger was covering the flash/flash
control sensor.
iLoad new or fully charged batteries.
iLoad the batteries in the correct direction.
iClose the battery cover correctly.
iPlug the adapter back in.
Load new or fully charged batteries.
iPut the batteries in your pocket or another
warm place to heat them and then load
them into the camera just before you take
a picture.
iWipe the battery terminals with a clean,
dry cloth.
iLoad new batteries.
iInsert media.
iInsert new media or erase some unwanted
frames.
iFormat the media.
iWipe the xD-Picture Card contact area
with a clean dry cloth.
iInsert new media.
iTurn the camera on.
iLoad new or fully charged batteries.
iIf you are not using an adapter, select
the “NO” setting.
iUse a blower brush to brush away any
dust and then gently wipe the sensor
with a soft, dry cloth.
Photography mode is changed to “B”,
N”, “M”, “<” or “>”.
Set Multiple exposure mode to “OFF”.
Change the Photography mode.
iPop up the flash.
iWait until the flash has finished charging
before pressing the Shutter button.
iLoad new or fully charged batteries.
iSelect another Scene position or change
the Photography mode.
iSet Continuous shooting to “OFF”.
iCancel Super Macro mode.
The flash settings are restricted because
the camera settings are tailored to the
scene being shot. Change the Photography
mode for a wider range of flash settings.
Set Continuous shooting to “OFF”.
iSet the sensitivity to 400 or less.
iSet the Continuous shooting option to
something other than “Long-period
continuous shooting”.
iMove to within the effective flash range
before taking the shot.
iHold the camera correctly.

Warning Displays

iThe voice memo file is faulty.
iCamera fault.
iThe voice memo cannot be played back.
iContact your FUJIFILM dealer.
CCD-RAW is set to ON in SET-UP. Set CCD-RAW to OFF in SET-UP (P.83).
The timing for recording was incorrect
because the media was formatted on a
computer.
Use media that was formatted on the camera.
You tried to shoot a movie when the
Microdrive was too hot.
Turn the camera off and stop using it for about 30
minutes until it has cooled down. Note that you
can still shoot still images during this time.
