Focus Mode
To choose how the camera focuses, press the AF C/S/M button and rotate the command dial.

The following options are available:

on, the camera will continually adjust focus for the selected face. Choose for moving subjects. Focus manually using the focus ring. Rotate the ring left to reduce the focus distance, right to
increase. The manual focus indicator indicates how closely the focus distance matches the distance to the subject in the focus brackets. Choose for manual control of focus or in situations in which the camera is unable to focus using autofocus (pg. 35). Intelligent Face Detection turns off automatically.
