Turn the camera on and check that no battery level warning ("C_" or "C::3") appears on the
screen. If no icon appears, there is ample charge left in the batteries.

working. Replace or recharge the batteries.
"tE::_" appears as a small icon on the right-hand
side of the screen. "C:3" appears as a large icon
on the screen.
PThe information above isan approximate guide for photography mode. Depending on the camera mode and the type
of batteries used, thetransition from "(:11_" to "C:]" may occur more quickly.
_;tWhen thebatteries run out, "C:]" appears and camera operation automatically stops. When this occurs, the camera
may work if you turn it on again even without loading new or fully charged batteries. However, this may cause
camera faults such as the camera turning itself off without retracting the lens. Always load new orfully charged
batteries.
;t Due to the nature ofthe battery, the battery low warning may appear early when the camera is used incold
locations. Thisis normal and does not indicate a fault. Try warming the batteries inyour pocket or a similar location
before use.
...........<_.Power save function @ ........._
When this function is active, it alsoturns off the screen (Sleep mode) to reduce power consumption if
the camera is not used for 30 seconds (-_P.86). If the camera is then left unused for 2 or 5minutes, the
