Working with the notebook

ExpressCards

An ExpressCard slot enables operation of an ExpressCard/34 or ExpressCard/54.

Consult the documentation supplied by the ExpressCard’s manufacturer and follow the instructions provided.

Never use force when installing or removing an ExpressCard. Make sure that no foreign objects enter the ExpressCard slot.

Inserting the card

Keep the placeholder for the slot in a safe place. When you remove the card again, you must reinstall the place holder. This prevents foreign objects from getting into the slot.

►Press the edge of the placeholder (1) to make the card placeholder protrude from the notebook’s case.

►Pull the card placeholder out of the slot (2).

►Insert the card into the slot guide with the connection contacts ﬁrst.

►Gently push the card into the slot until you feel it click into place. Do not use any force.

Depending on the particular type used, the card may protrude slightly from the slot.
