7Turning on the power and run mini-setup of each OS
This section explains how to run mini-setup of CoServer1, CoServer2 and FTvirtual Server.
To run mini-setup of FTvirtual Server, CoServer1 and 2 must already be run mini-setup.
Run mini-setup in the following order.
(1) Turn on the FT1 power and run mini-setup of CoServer1. Do not yet turn on the power of FT2.
(2) Turn on the FT2 power and run mini-setup of CoServer2. The procedure is the same as for CoServer1.
(3) Logon to CoServer1 and 2 and run mini-setup of FTvirtual Server.
- CoServer1 a nd CoServer 2 cannot be run mini-se tup at the sam e time. After turning on t he power of FT1 d o not turn on
the power of FT2 until CoServer1 has nis hed running mini-setup.
- When an internal h ard disk has been a dded or changing the size of C driv e on the FTvirtual Server, before ru nning mini-
setup of each OS, perform recovery us ing the recovery CD.

1Check that the FTvirtual Server LAN
and CoServer LAN are not connected
to the server and turn on the power
supply of the peripheral devices.
When connecting UPS check th at UPS has a nor-
mal power supply.

Press the power switch on the FT1.

When the power is turned on, the s erver is checked
using "Power On Self Test (POST)".
If any abnormalities are detect ed by POST, error
messages are displayed.

After POST is nished, running mini-setup opera-
tions automatically start.
3When running mini-setup, enter the
following parameters.
Check the parameter setti ng values and click
"Next".
- Personalize Your Software
(Name, organization)
- Computer name & Administrator password
- Date and Time Settings
- Adding /delet ing devi ces be come ea sier if the
passwor d for CoSer ver1 a nd Co Serve r2 are
the same.
- You must set a p assword. I f not, an F T-system
internal communication problem will o ccur.
- Someti mes yo u cann ot retu rn even by pre ss-
ing [Back]. Chec k the parameters c arefully and
click [Next].
After completing setup, the ser ver restarts and sta rt
Windows OS.
4Logon to CoServer1.
When the following screen appears e nter "Endur-
ance License Number" and click [OK].
- The En duranc e Lice nse Nu mber is print ed in
"About Endurance Licen se Number for Vers ion
6.x" supplied with the recovery CD.
This nu mber ca n be us ed for b oth Co Server 1
and CoServer2.
- Depen ding on the envir onmen t som etimes a
NumLock status oc curs. In this c ase, press the
NumLock key to unloc k the lock and th en enter
Endurance License Number.
- Afte r logg ing on to Co Serv er, a D OS pro mpt
window app ears at the same time as the "En -
duranc e Lic ense Numb er" dialo gue b ox ap -
pears . How ever, do n ot pe rfor m op erat ions
such as closing DOS prompt windows.
A message that recommends resta rting appears.
