3. Assembly

Fitting the hand guard:				Before the hand guard 5 can be
				fitted, the position of the hedge
				trimmer has to be changed – from	A
				the packing position A to the
				working position C.
			A Hold down the button 1 and tilt
				the swivel head 2 by 90°
				(see 4. Operation “Tilting the
				swivel head” ).
	1		B Hold down the button 3 and		B
		3		rotate the cutting unit 4 to the
5				0° position (see 4. Operation
	4			“Rotating the cutting unit by 90°” ).
	2		C Hold down the button 1 and tilt
				the swivel head 2 to 0°.

vPush the hand guard 5 onto the

swivel head 2 until the snap-on	C
fittings engage.

4. Operation

	A	DANGER ! Risk of physical injury!
7		V Slide the protective cover 6 over the cutter
		blade 7.
6		V First insert the Hedge Trimmer plug into the
		coupling of the extension cable, then plug the
		extension cable 9 into a mains socket.

VNever take hold of the protective cover 6 when connecting the hedge trimmer.

Connecting the Hedge	DANGER ! Risk of electric shock!
Trimmer:	To avoid damage to the the mains cord 8 the
	Aextension cable 9 must be inserted into the

			cable lock 0.
		8	V Always insert the extension cable 9 into the
			cable lock 0.
		1.	Loop the extension cable 9, insert the loop into the cable
			lock 0 and pull tight.
		2.	Insert the plug of the mains cord 8 into the socket of the
			extension cable 9.
0	9	3.	Plug the extension cable 9 into a 230 V mains power supply.
