Troubleshooting

When Using The NiCad or NiMH Battery Pack*:

Fully charge the battery pack before its first use. The battery pack requires 12 hours for a full charge and should not be charged in excess of this time period.. Charge only with the VHF 725 Charging Unit provided with the NiCad Battery Pack. Partially discharging a nickel-cadmium battery and then recharging it causes a phenomenon referred to as “memory reset”. When a battery that is not fully discharged is then recharged, it resets the memory in proportion to the amount of previous discharge, resulting in a gradually decreasing recharge capacity. To ensure that this type of battery pack retains its full capacity, it should be almost fully discharged (when the battery symbol blinks) and then recharged completely after every few cycles of use.

*Municipal Law requires for environmentally sound collection and recycling or disposal of nickel- cadmium batteries. Contact your local waste management official for instructions on disposal.
