Installing Seagate tape drive softwareIf you installed a Seagate tape drive, you need to install additional software.
Use the Seagate Backup Execâ„¢ CD to install your tape drive software.
To install the Seagate tape drive software:
1Start your computer.
2Insert the Seagate Backup Exec CD into your computer’s CD or DVD drive.
3If the Backup Exec setup program starts automatically, go to Step7.
- OR -
If the Backup Exec setup program does not start automatically, go to the
next step.
4In Windows XP, click Start, then click My Computer. The My Computer
window opens.
- OR -
In WindowsMe, Windows 2000, Windows 98, or WindowsNT 4.0,
double-click the My Computer icon. The My Computer window opens.
5Click/Double-click the CD or DVD drive letter (usually D: or E:). The CD
or DVD drive window opens.
6Double-click Setup.exe.
7Install the software by following the on-screen instructions.
8When the software installation is complete, restart your computer.
Important If your computer is running WindowsNT 4.0, you must
have administrator privileges for your local computer to
install the Seagate Backup Exec software.
If you reinstall WindowsNT 4.0, you may need to reinstall
the Seagate Backup Exec software.
