No seque artículos que contengan hule, plástico o materiales similares (por ejemplo, sostenes acojinados, tenis, zapatillas de hule, tapetes de baño, tapetes, baberos, calzones de hule para bebé, bolas de plástico, almohadas, etcétera) ya que estos materiales pueden derretirse o quemarse. También, algunos materiales de hule, cuando se calientan, bajo determinadas circunstancias pueden provocar un incendio por combustión espontánea.

No guarde artículos que puedan quemarse o derretirse (ropa, papeles, plásticos o recipientes de plástico, etcétera) sobre la secadora mientras ésta se encuentre en operación.

Las prendas que estén marcadas con la etiqueta “Seque lejos de fuentes de calor” o “No seque en máquina” (como chalecos salvavidas que contengan Kapok) no deben meterse en su secadora.

No lave ni seque artículos que se hayan limpiado, lavado en, remojado en o manchado con sustancias combustibles o explosivas (tales como cera, aceite, pintura, gasolina, desengrasantes, solventes para lavado en seco, queroseno, etcétera) que puedan incendiarse o estallar. No añada estas sustancias al agua de lavado. No use estas sustancias cerca de su lavadora y de su secadora durante la operación de cualquiera de éstas.

Cualquier artículo en el que usted haya usado un solvente limpiador o que contenga materiales inflamables (tales como trapos de limpieza, jergas, toallas que se usan en salones de belleza, restaurantes o barberías, etcétera) no deben colocarse en o cerca de la secadora hasta que se hayan quitado todos los rastros de estos líquidos o sólidos inflamables y sus vapores. Hay una gran cantidad de artículos altamente inflamables que se usan en los hogares. Por ejemplo: acetona, alcohol desnaturalizado, gasolina, queroseno, algunos limpiadores caseros, algunos removedores de manchas, aguarrás, ceras, removedores de cera y productos que contienen destilados de petróleo.
