While this playeris capable of connecting to and loading music from

mosttypes of USB storage devices and MP3 players,we can not guar-

anteeplaybackfrom all such devicesdue to the varying natureof the de-

vices and their storage methods.Most storage devices and storage

classMP3 players are compatible forplayback. Check with the devices

manufacturerfor additional compatibilityinformation.

Theplayer pre-reads the entire directory structure and locates all valid

MP3files within those folders, thus a LARGE CAPACITY

storagedevice will take a LONGTIME TO LOAD.

CONSTANTBIT RATE (CBR) vs.VARIABLE BIT RATE(VBR) MP3:

Files are created (Encoded) using two basic methods , Constant Bit

Rate(CBR) and Variable Bit Rate(VBR). VBR files, while saving some

space,are decoded on-the-fly causing a slight lag or stutter when set-

tinga CUE point, and can also cause a slight skip duringplayback if the

unitsmemory buffer is over run, whereasCBR files take up a little more

room but arequick to process which means no lag in CUE setting or

playback.

VBRfiles can easily be convertedto CBR using any commerciallyavail-

ableMP3 ripping software.
