Checking the spark plug

Check the fuel filter periodically. Do not allow dust to enter the fuel tank. A clogged filter will cause difficulty when starting the engine or abnormalities in engine performance.

When the filter is dirty, replace the filter.

When the inside of the fuel tank is dirty, it can be cleaned by rinsing the tank out with petrol.

Checking the spark plug

Check the spark plug every 10-15 hours of use.

1.Remove the spark plug cover.

2.Use the spark plug spanner (20) to remove the spark plug, by turning it anti-clockwise (Fig. a).

CJ7Y spark plug, as listed in the specification table.

4.Install the spark plug finger tight in the cylinder head, then tighten it firmly with the spark plug spanner (Fig. b).

Servicing

It is recommended once you first use your petrol brush cutter to get it serviced after 15 hours of use.

From thereafter, service the petrol brush cutter every 2 years.

Storage and maintenance after use

When you finish working, clean the petrol brush cutter completely, making sure there is no grass or dirt wrapped in the cutting tools, replace the blade cover and put it back into its package in order to avoid its hurting you or other people during transport.

Be aware to not hit or cut the fuel tank if you put it onto the ground. Do not let the petrol brush cutter fall down to the floor or it may damage the machine.

Store the petrol brush cutter away from direct sunlight.

Do not store in a nylon bag as this can encourage the formation of mould.

At the end of the season, give the petrol brush cutter an overall cleaning and a thorough check.

Do not leave the petrol brush cutter resting on the floor for extended periods as it could cause the shape of the guard to alter, posing a safety risk. Hang it off the floor by the top handgrip.

Whenever the machine is not used for a long period of time, proceed as follows:

Empty the fuel tank completely.

Protect all metal engine parts from corrosion by coating them with oil.

Remove the spark plug, put a few drops of oil into the cylinder and then pull the recoil starter 2 to 3 times in order to distribute the oil evenly. Replace the spark plug.
