Grounding GroundingGroundingWhenoperatingtheelectrostaticgun,any
ungroundedobjectsinthesprayarea(people,
containers,tools,etc.)canbecomeelectrically
charged.Impropergroundingcanresultinstatic
sparking,whichcancauseare,explosion,or
electricshock.Groundallequipment,personnel,
objectbeingsprayed,andconductiveobjects
inorclosetothesprayarea.Resistancemust
notexceed1megohm.Followthegrounding
instructionsbelow.
Thefollowingareminimumgroundingrequirements
forabasicelectrostaticsystem(seeFigs.12–15).
Yoursystemmayincludeotherequipmentorobjects
whichmustbegrounded.Checkyourlocalelectrical
codefordetailedgroundinginstructions.Yoursystem
mustbeconnectedtoatrueearthground.

linersunlesstheyareconductiveandgrounded.
Whenushingthespraygun,thecontainerused
tocatchtheexcessuidmustbeelectrically
conductiveandgrounded.

Air compressors:

All air and uid lines
mustbeproperlygrounded.
Useonlygroundedhoseswithamaximumof100
feet(30.5m)combinedhoselengthtoensure
