Locking Retractor (ELR)
This lap belt stays loose and
can move until it locks in a
crash or sudden stop.
6.2 VehicleSeat Belt Requirements
MANYSEAT BELT SYSTEMS ARE NOT SAFE TO
USE WITH THE CHILD RESTRAINT.THE VEHICLE
SEATBELT MUST BE DESIGNED TO HOLD THE
CHILD RESTRAINT TIGHTLYAT ALL TIMES.
Pay careful attention to these systems; some of the
seat belts that are not safe to use look very much
like seat belts that are safe to use. If you are unsure,
