3. Playback
Freeze-Frame Stepping,
Forwards or Reverse*
Press the Kbutton during playback (playback pause).
By turning the jog knob you can view the previous or the fol-
lowing individual freeze-frames step by step (see illustration).

Depending on the direction in which you turn the knob, you
can select the previous or the following freeze-frame.
Press the Jbutton to switch back to playback.

Changing the Slow-Motion Speed,
Forward or Reverse*
During playback, turn the shuttle-ring to switch to forward or
reverse slow motion.
Turning the jog-knob reduces the slow motion speed (see
illustration).
The following appears in the display of the recorder:

Depending on the direction in which you turn the knob, the
slow motion speed increases or decreases.
By turning the shuttle-ring you can set any desired slow-
motion speed.
Press the Jbutton to switch back to normal playback.

Fast Tape Wind
Press the `button.
At the beginning or end of the tape, the recorder switches to
stop. Terminate tape winding with the `button.
Locating a Certain Tape Position/
GO-TO Function
This function allows you to automatically wind the tape to a
certain position.
There are two ways of doing this:
by entering the playing time, or
by entering the tape position.
Go-to by entering the playing time
If the tape position is displayed, switch to the playing time
display by pressing the obutton.
Press the kbutton. You will see this in the display of the
recorder:
»GOT
and "–––".
Now enter the desired playing time as three digits with the
numbered buttons 1... 0, then press the
OK button.
Example:
Press the kbutton, enter the playing time (e.g. 48 min-
utes) with the numbered buttons 048
, then press the
OK button.
When the last entry is completed, the tape is wound to the
respective position and playback is started.

Go-to by entering the tape position
If the playing time is displayed, press the oto switch to
the tape position time display.
Press the kbutton, then enter the desired tape position as
three digits with the numbered buttons 1... 0.
Press the
OK button to start the Go-to function.
Example:
Tape is at position
»I:30:00«
Desired tape position =
»0:0I:00«
Enter the following = k001¶
OK .
The last two digits are not entered.
Locating a Certain Recording/
Automatie Programme Finder (APF System)
This system allows you to locate the beginning of any of your
own recordings quickly and accurately.
For this, electronic "marks" (VISS marks = Video Index
Search system) are automatically placed at the beginning of
each of your own recordings.
The "marks" can be entered as one or two-digit numbers.
Example:
The tape is wound to the beginning and you wish to see the
5th recording. Press the kbutton, then the numbered but-
ton 5for the fifth mark, and then turn the shuttle-ring to the
right.
You will see this in the display of the recorder:
»APF «
.
The tape is automatically wound to the beginning of the 5th
recording and playback is started there.
If you wish to see the 3rd recording – related to the beginning
to the tape – after the 5th recording (= 6th mark), then you
must go back 3 recordings (= 4 marks) by pressing the k,
button, then the numbered button 4, and then turning the
shuttle ring to the left.
You will see this in the display of the recorder:

The tape is automatically wound to the beginning of the 3rd
recording and playback is started there.
For selecting the playing time with non-standard hours-
cassettes, you must first press the lbutton, then enter
the total playing time with the numbered buttons 1... 0
and then confirm with the
OK button.
