OPERATION
REVERSING THE OUTBOARD MOTOR
1. For the throttle lever type: Move the throttle lever to the SLOW position.
For the throttle grip type: Move the throttle grip to the SLOW position and
hold it there by turning the throttle grip friction knob clockwise.

Before rotating the outboard motor (from either forward to reverse or from
reverse to forward) reduce the engine speed to SLOW, or the boat could
capsize.

THROlTLE GRIP FRI
2. To reverse
outboard motor 180”, and then
pivot the tiller handle as shown.
For the throttle grip type, be care-
ful not to hold and move the
throttle grip when pivoting the
tiller handle.
When operating in reverse, proceed with caution to avoid hitting any underwa-
ter obstructions with the propeller.
