After each use in salt water or dirty water, thoroughly clean the outboard motor
with fresh water. L
l Be sure the outboard motor is securely
mounted, and do not leave it unattended
while running.
l Keep children and pets away from the area,
and stay clear of moving parts during this
procedure.
Running the outboard motor without sufficient water can cause serious
engine damage due to overheating.
