SERVICING YOUR GENERATOR
AIR FILTER CLEANING
A dirty main and outer filters will restrict air flow to the carburetor,
reducing engine performance. If you operate the generatorin very
dusty areas, clean the main and outerfilters more frequently than
specified in the Maintenance Schedule.
Wash the main and outer filters in a solution of household detergent
and warm water, then rinse thoroughly, or wash in nonflammable or
high flash point solvent. Allow the air filters to dry thoroughly.
Soak the main and outer filters in clean engine oil and squeeze out
the excess oil. The engine will smoke during initialstartup if too
much oil is leftin the air filters.
Wipe dirt from the air cleaner case and cover using a moist rag. Be
careful to prevent dirtf romentering the air duct that leads to the
carburetor.
