Creating a Command Mode Icon

To create a command mode icon using HyperTerminal:

1. If you are using Windows 95 or Windows NT:

select Start ➪ Programs ➪ Accessories ➪ HyperTerminal. If you are using Windows 98:

select Start ➪ Programs ➪ Accessories ➪ Communications ➪HyperTerminal.

2.Double-click the Hypertrm.exe icon.

3.The Connection Description dialog box is displayed.

4.Type Command in the Name option.

5.Click OK.

6.The Phone Number dialog box is displayed.

7.Select Connect Using ➪ Direct to COM2.

8.Click OK.

9.The Modem Port Settings dialog box is displayed. 10. Click OK.

11.The command mode screen is displayed with a blinking cursor in the upper-left corner. Commands can now be sent to the modem, and the modem responds with a result code.

12.Click File, then Save to save the session.

13.Click File, then Exit to quit.

14.A command mode icon is displayed in the HyperTerminal dialog box.
