T8686xx/T8696xx: HP Serviceguard Cluster File System for Oracle

The HP Serviceguard Cluster File System for Oracle (SGCFSO) is available only as an integrated bundle with MCOE, HAOE, and DCOE. It is not available as standalone. It is an integrated product bundle that includes Serviceguard high availability clustering with Symantec’s VxVM and VxFS, plus the Veritas CFS and Veritas CVM for concurrent data access from multiple servers for Oracle single instance environments. This bundle also includes a special database accelerator for Oracle that provides the performance of near raw mode with the manageability of a file system. This bundle includes the following individual components:

Compared to the SGCFS bundle, the SGCFSO bundle adds the database accelerator and other useful tools, such as Database FlashSnap for Oracle databases. The Database FlashSnap functionality, in combination with CFS, lets you easily create a database replica that can be used on other cluster nodes for backup or decision support systems. This bundle is primarily designed for Oracle single-instance database environments but it can also be used with all applications discussed in this paper.

The SGCFSO is another option for TruCluster users (including AdvFS and LSM) who want to transition an Oracle environment from Tru64 to HP-UX.

Note

SGCFSO is available only as an integrated bundle with MCOE, HAOE, and DCOE. On HP-UX 11i v2, it is available with MCOE. On HP-UX 11i v3, it is available with HAOE and DCOE.

SGCFSO is not available as standalone. If you are interested in the standalone SGCFSO, the alternate bundles to consider is T2777xx or T2775xx.
