that is stored in flash memory. Erasing the registry allows the system to use registry changes incorporated in the new Windows CE release.

"NOTE: Upgrading flash erases the registry and destroys previous settings.

Perform the following steps:

1.System format a PC Card with MS-DOS 6.22 or 7.00. This requires a machine running DOS or Windows 95. You will not be able to system format a PC Card under Windows NT with MS-DOS. Place the appropriate HI- MEM.SYS in the root directory. You may need a Com- pactFlash Adapter card (P/N: 850-547-001) which al- lows the CompactFlash card to be used in a Standard PCMCIA card slot on your development machine.

2.Copy the entire contents of the “DriveImg” directory to the PC Card. Place the card in the 602 Computer’s external compact card slot.

3.Simultaneously press and hold the [GOLD], [Esc], and [0] keys for three seconds to reset the computer.

"NOTE: This image contains CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files. If you are using a development card (instead of a blank card), you will need to merge these files into your current configuration files. The CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files are listed on the next page. The 602 Computer files are different only during the Flash Update portion of the AUTOEXEC.BAT processing.

EXAMPLE: CONFIG.SYS

device=C:\himem.sys /testmem:off /MACHINE:2

EXAMPLE: AUTOEXEC.BAT

ECHO OFF path .;c:\ cd WINCE startce :End
