+The surface burner heads are removable. The cap portion of the head is porcelain and the port area is aluminum. Wash the burner heads in the sink with mild detergent and a plastic scrubber. For stubborn stains, clean with Cooktop Cleaning Creme (Part #20000001)*:i~.

+Check to be sure all ports are open. To open clogged ports, insert a straight pin directly into each port. Do not enlarge or distort the port.

+The aluminum burner base is not removeable. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth.

+When replacing the burner heads, carefully align the tab on the burner base with the indentation in the head. The two pins will fit in the slots when the tab is aligned with the indentation.

NOTE: When burner heads are removed for cleaning, do not spill liquids through the holes in the burner base.

Before You Call For Service

Check the following list to be sure a service call is really necessary.

If surface burner fails to light:

+checkto be sureunit is properly connectedto power supply.

+checkfor a blown fuseor a tripped main circuit breaker.

+checkto be sureburner is correctly ratedfor your type of gas.

+check to be sureburner portsor ignition portsarenot clogged.

+checkto besure ignitor is dry andclicking. Burnerwill not light if igniter is damaged.soiledor wet. If ignitor doesn’tclick, turn control knob OFF.

+checkto besuretheburnerheadis correctly seatedon theburner base.

If the flame is uneven:

+burnerports may beclogged.

+makesuretheburnerheadiscorrectly seatedon theburnerbase.

If surface burner flame lifts off the ports: + contactanauthorizedJenn-Air Servicer.

If surface burner flame is yellow in color:

+contactan authorizedJenn-Air Servicer.

+someyellow tips on the flamesareacceptablewhen using LP gas.

If ventilation systemis not capturing smoke efficiently:

+checkon crossventilation in room or makeup air.

+outsidewallcap may be trappedshut.

+cooktopmaybeimproperly installed(seep.3):checkinstallation instructions.

+checkfilter installation (seep. 5).
