Turn on the TV and select the VCR channel 3 or 4 (or AV mode).

This VCR offers you the choice to view on-screen messages in English, Spanish or French (not including messages superimposed on the TV picture). Select the desired language using this procedure. The default setting is "ENGLISH".

1		TURN ON THE VCR
		Press POWER.
		ACCESS ON-SCREEN
2		MENU
		Press MENU.
		ACCESS INITIAL SET
3		SCREEN
		At the Main Menu screen,	MAIN MENU
		place the arrow next to
			PROGRAM SET
		“INITIAL SET” by pressing
			FUNCTION SET
		CH5°, then press OK.	TUNER SET
			=INITIAL SET
		● "AUTO PICTURE" will
			AUTO PICTURE
		appear with HR-A53U	VIDEO STABILIZER
		only.	PRESS (5,°), THEN (OK)
			PRESS (MENU) TO END
		ACCESS LANGUAGE
4		SELECT SCREEN
		The messages are preset to	INITIAL SET
		appear in English. If you want
		to see them in Spanish or	CLOCK SET
		French, place the arrow	=LANGUAGE SELECT
		next to “LANGUAGE
		SELECT” by pressing CH5°,
	then press OK.		PRESS (5,°), THEN (OK)
			PRESS (MENU) TO END
5		SELECT LANGUAGE
		At the Language Select	LANGUAGE SELECT
		screen, place the arrow
			=ENGLISH
		next to the desired
			ESPAÑOL
		language by pressing	FRANCAIS
		CH5°, then press MENU
		as many times as necessary
		to return to the normal	PRESS (5,°) TO SELECT
		screen.
			PRESS (MENU) TO END
