SYMPTOM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

POWER

1.No power is applied to the VCR.

2.The clock is functioning properly, but the VCR cannot be powered.

3.The Remote Control wonÕt function.

¥The mains power cord is disconnected.

¥The batteries are discharged.

Connect the mains power cord.

Press the cbutton to turn the c indicator off.

Replace the dead batteries with new ones.

5.Breaks are noticeable in Hi-Fi soundtrack.

¥If youÕre using only the RF cable for connectionÉ

Éthe TVÕs channel selector is not set to the Video Channel. Éthe VCRÕs Video Channel has not been correctly set.

¥If youÕre using both the RF cable and 21-pin SCART cable for connection, the TV is not set to the AV mode.

¥This is normal.

¥The automatic tracking mode is engaged.

¥The video heads may be dirty.

¥Automatic tracking is engaged.

If you are using only the RF cable for connectionÉ

Éset the TV to the Video Channel. ÉPerform Video Channel Set. (☞Êpg.Ê48)

If you are using both the RF cable and 21-pin SCART cable for connection, set the TV to its AV mode.

Try manual tracking. (☞ pg. 30)

Use a dry cleaning cassette JVC TCL-2U or consult your JVC dealer.

Try manual tracking (☞ pg. 30) or press AUDIO to change the soundtrack to NORM (☞Êpg.Ê32).
