Turn on the TV and select the VIDEO channel (or AV mode).

The B.E.S.T. (Biconditional Equalised Signal Tracking) system checks the condition of the tape in use during recording and playback, and compensates to provide the highest-possible recording and playback pictures. The default setting for both recording and playback is "ON".

Preparation

TURN ON THE RECORDER

	1 Press					.

		ACCESS MAIN MENU
		SCREEN
	2 Press MENU.
		ACCESS FUNCTION SET
		SCREEN
		Place the pointer next to					MAIN MENU
		"FUNCTION SET" by					MAIN MENU
		"FUNCTION SET" by					FUNCTION SET
	3 pressing PUSH JOG %Þ,						FUNCTION SET
	3 pressing PUSH JOG %Þ,						TUNER SET
		then press OK or PUSH					INITIAL SET
		JOGÞ.

							[MENU] : EXIT

		SELECT MODE
		Place the pointer next to					FUNCTION SET
		"B.E.S.T." by pressing					FUNCTION SET
		"B.E.S.T." by pressing					B.E.S.T.	ON
	4 PUSH JOG %Þ, then press						B.E.S.T.	ON
	4 PUSH JOG %Þ, then press						PICTURE CONTROL	AUTO
		OK or PUSH JOGÞto set					AUTO TIMER	OFF
		to "ON" or "OFF".					O.S.D.	ON
