Three-Step Quick Start

For Step, be sure to perform either of the methods: Auto Setup or Preset Download.

Auto Setup

before you start

Check that the VCR is turned off and no cassette is inserted

Load the batterys into the Remote Control

START AUTO SETUP

Press the obutton. If ‘Auto’ appears on the display panel, press (or E).

what will happen? The display panel on the front of the VCR will show the word ‘Auto’. Do not press any button on the VCR or the Remote Control. note If you have connected both the RF cable and the fully-wired 21-pin SCART cable, and if your TV offers T-V Link, etc., and the TV is turned on, the VCR automatically performs the Preset Download (￿pg. 11) even if you select ‘Auto’ for Auto Setup function.

Refer to the Remote Control diagram on pages 6–7

Unless indicated otherwise, use the buttons on the Remote Control

Check that the connection is completed

Now tune the TV set to channel 52 (refer to TV manual if necessary); you should see two vertical white bars appear on the TV screen. If the bars do not appear or are not clear, choose another vacant channel pressing PR +/--on the Remote Control and try again. If you cannot obtain the vertical white bars on any channel between 22 and 69, consult your local JVC dealer.
