䡵AUTOSP]LP TIMER —ON/OFF
Whenthis function is set to “ON”, the recorder automatically
switchesto LP mode to allow complete recording if there is not
enoughtape to record the entire program while timer-recording in
SPmode.
ForExample, Recording a PAL-broadcast programme of 210
minutesin length onto a 180-minute tape.
NOTES:
●Ifyou have programed the recorder to timer-record 2 or more
programs,do not use this function, but change the tape speed
manuallyduring timer programing.
●Theremay be some noise and sound disturbance where the tape
speedswitchesfromSPtoLPmodeonthetape.
●The Auto SP]LP Timer feature is not available during ITR
(InstantTimer Recording), and the feature will not work properly
withany tapes longer than E-180 or with some tapes of shorter
lengths.
Multi-Brand Remote Control
Thisremote control can control some functions of remote
controllableTVs, cable boxes, satellite receivers or DVD sets
listedbelow. Without setting, you can control a JVC TV.
NOTES:
●Someunit’s brands have more than one code. If the unit does
notfunction with a specified code, try other codes.
●Dependingon the type of unit, some or all functions cannot be
operatedusing this remote control.
●It’snot possible to operate a unit not equipped with a remote
sensor.
●It’snot possible to set the remote control for two units at the
sametime.
●Onceyou have set the remote control to operate the unit, you
donot have to set it until you replace the batteries from the
remotecontrol.

TV Brand Setting

ATurn o n TV
Turnon the TV using the Power button on the TV or its remote
control.
BSetTV bra nd code
APressand hold TV.
BPressthe Number keys to enter your TV’s brand code.
CPressOK,andreleaseTV. The TV should turn off.
COperate TV
First, press TV to set the remote control to TV mode, then press
oneof the following buttons: 1,TV/VCR,TVPR+/–,^
(TVMuting), TV %+/–,andtheNumberkeys.
●Forsome brands, you must press ENTER after having pressed the
Numberkeys to enter a channel number.

Cable Box, Satellite Receiver or DVD Brand Setting

BPressthe Number keys to enter your unit’s brand code.

First, press CABLE/ SAT/DVD to set the remote control to cable
box,satellite receiver or DVD mode, then press one of the
