InthissectionyouwilllearnhowtosetupproperlyyourK2Bikesuspension.Ourbicyclesaredesignedtoofferwideadjustabilityformanydifferent riders.ItmaybenecessarytopurchasedifferentspringsinordertotuneyourK2Bike.We offerawidevarietyofcoilspringsforthispurpose.

This section provides guidelines for tuning your K2 Bike rear suspension and also briefly discusses Noleen front suspension set up. For a more complete guide to front suspension tuning, please refer to your Noleen Cross-Link or Noleen Chubby Owner's Manual.

Tuning Variables

Allridersaredifferent.Therefore,bicyclesuspensionneedstobeabletoadjusttothedifferentneedsanddesiresofmanydifferentriders.The followingvariablesorfactorsshouldbeconsideredwhenadjustingthesuspensionofaK2Bike:

Rider Weight

Smallerbicyclesareassumedtoberiddenbylighterridersandaresuppliedwithsoftersuspensionsthanlargerbikes.Ifyouraretallandslimor short and stocky, you may wish to install softer or stiffer springs.

Type of Riding

Abicycleusedforhigh-performanceoff-roadridingshouldhavestiffersuspensionthanoneintendedforrecreationalroaduse.Thesevereimpacts andhighspeedsofseriousoff-roadridingdemandstiffersprings,whilemorecasualridingismorecomfortablewithsoftersprings.Ingeneral,the bikeshouldbesetuptomaximizetheuseoffullsuspensiontravelintheconditionstobeencountered.

Personal Preference

New suspension riders often prefer stiffer suspensions that feel more like a rigid bikes. However, suspension works best when a rider adapts his style fully to use the suspension. A spring that feels soft at first may be exactly what you want after a week of riding.

Spring Rate

SpringRateistheamountofloadrequiredtocompressacoilspringoneinch. Wesuggestdifferentspringratesforourbikesandforksbecause differentridersplacedifferentloadsonbicycles. Theprovidedspringratechartsaresuggestedspringratesaccordingtoriderweight. Keepinmind thesechartsareonlysuggestions.

Springselectionisalsoaffectedgreatlybyriderpreference. Moreaggressiveridersmaydesiretheirspringstobestiffer,whileamorerecreationally orientedridermaylikeasofterridewithsoftersprings. Experimentationwithacoupledifferentspringratesmaybenecessarytofindthecorrect setup.
