You can search for a station by selecting a Program Type.

You can store a Program Type in the Preset button memory and recall it quickly.

•Speech and music include the following types of programs.
Speech: Program type indicated by white letters
Music: Program type indicated by black letters
1Enter the PTY mode Press the [ ] button.2Select a Program Type Turn the Control knob.3Search for the station broadcasting the selected Program Type stationPush the Control knob rightward or leftward.4Exit the PTY modePress the [ ] button.

•This function cannot be used during reception of a traffic bulletin or AM broadcast.
•When the selected Program Type is not found, “No PTY” is displayed. Select another Program Type.
