Electrical Shock Hazard
l Electrical ground is required on this appliance.
lDo Not ground to a gas pipe.
lDo Not have a fuse in the neutral or grounding circuit. A fuse in the neutral or grounding circuit could result in electrical
shock.

Wire sizes (COPPER ONLY) must conform with rating of the appliance, as specified on the serial/rating plate, and to the requirements of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA
9 Check with a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the appliance is properly grounded.
Failure to follow these instructions could result in a fire, serious injury or death.
If codes permit and a separate grounding wire is used, it is recommended that a qualified electrician determine that the grounding path is adequate.

Property/Product Damage
. Cover countertop, cooktop or range with a thick, protective covering.
l Before making cutouts, make sure there is proper clearance within the ceiling or wall for exhaust duct.
l Because of the size and weight of this range hood, the support system must be securely attached to the ceiling.
-For plaster or sheet rock ceilings, the support must be attached to joists.
-If this is not possible, you must build a support structure behind the plaster or sheet rock.
l Do Not cut a joist or stud unless absolutely necessary. If a joist or stud must be cut, then a supporting frame must be constructed.

Failure to follow these instructions may result in property or product damage.
1 Put a thick, protective covering over
n countertop, cooktop or range to protect from damage or dirt. Select a flat surface for assembling the unit. Cover that surface with a protective covering and place all range hood parts and hardware on it.
2 Determine and mark the centerline on the
n ceiling where the range hood will be installed.
Using the mounting template, mark the
3 n location of the support mounting bracket holes, ductwork and power supply cable cutouts on the ceiling. Use drill and saber saw to cut openings for power supply cable and ductwork. (See “Venting requirements” and “Electrical requirements,”

5 Run wiring through ceiling according to the n National Electrical Code and local codes and
ordinances. Feed enough power supply cable through the wall to make the connections in the hood’s terminal box. Do Not turn on power until installation is completed. Use caulking to seal all openings.
