In Review mode, a
blue or black
screen is displayed
instead of a
picture.
Transfer the p icture t o the co mputer ( page 13), then format t he card in
the camera (page29).
Caution: Formatting a card deletes all pictures and videos,
including protected files.
Shutter button
does not work.
Turn on the camera (page2).
Wait until the ready light stops blinking red before attempting to take
another picture.
Transfer pictures to the computer (page13), delete pictures from the
camera (page13), switch image storage locations (page27 ), or insert
a card with available memory (page3).

Slide show does
not run on external
video device.
Adjust the camera Video Out setting (NTSC or PAL, page27).
See the external device’s user’s guide.
Picture is too light. Move so there is at least 2 4 in. (0.6 m) between camera and subject.
Decrease Exposure Compensation (page27).
Picture is not cle ar. Clean the lens (page 55).
Move so there is at least 24 in. (0.6 m) between the camera and the
subject.
Place the camera on a flat, steady surface or use a tripod.
Picture is too dark. Turn on the flash (page 8).
Move so there is n o more than 7.9 ft (2.4 m) bet ween the camera and
the subject.
Use Fill flash (page8) or change your pos ition so light is not behind
the subject.
