■Transfer the p icture t o the co mputer ( page 13), then format t he card in
the camera (page29).
Caution: Formatting a card deletes all pictures and videos,
including protected files.
Shutter button
does not work.
■Turn on the camera (page2).
■Wait until the ready light stops blinking red before attempting to take
another picture.
■Transfer pictures to the computer (page13), delete pictures from the
camera (page13), switch image storage locations (page27 ), or insert
a card with available memory (page3).
■For best pictures, see page 4.
Slide show does
not run on external
video device.
■Adjust the camera Video Out setting (NTSC or PAL, page27).
■See the external device’s user’s guide.
Picture is too light. ■Move so there is at least 2 4 in. (0.6 m) between camera and subject.
■Decrease Exposure Compensation (page27).
Picture is not cle ar. ■Clean the lens (page 55).
■Move so there is at least 24 in. (0.6 m) between the camera and the
subject.
■Place the camera on a flat, steady surface or use a tripod.
Picture is too dark. ■Turn on the flash (page 8).
■Move so there is n o more than 7.9 ft (2.4 m) bet ween the camera and
the subject.
■Use Fill flash (page8) or change your pos ition so light is not behind
the subject.
■Increase Exposure Compensation (page27).
