Using exposure compensation to adjust brightness
In Auto or SCN, you can adjust exposure compensation to make your pictures darker
or lighter. Press to increase exposure compensation, and to decrease
exposure compensation.
The exposure compensation level is shown on the LCD and the LCD gets
brighter or dimmer.
Using the self-timer
To cancel the Self-timer before the picture is taken, press the Self-timer b utton. (The
Self-timer setting remains active.)
Use the same procedure to take a video, but:
Turn the Mode dial to Video .
Press the Shutter button completely down.
NOTE: The video stops when no storage space r emains. Only the 2- and 10-second opt ions are availa ble in
video mode.

Place camera on a tripo d or flat surfac e.
Compose the scene.
Press the Shutter button halfway,
then completely down.
• Once for a 10-second delay (so you have time to get into the scene)
• Again for a 2-second delay (for a steady, auto-shutter release on a tripod)
