Capturing in Black-and-White, Sepia Tone, or Document

If you want to take black-and-white pictures, maybe for a brochure or
newspaper; in sepia tone to give your picture an antique look; or of
documents so text stands out, use the Effects setting. When activated, the
camera Preview is automatically turned on s o yo u can see if the effect
selected works well with your subject. If you like the effect, go ahead and
take the picture. If you do not like the effect, select a different one before
taking the picture. Once the picture is taken with the effect, the effect
cannot be removed.
1Set the Mode dial to Capture.
2Slide the POWER switch to the right to
turn on the cam era.
3Press the MENU button.
The LCD displays the main Menu screen.
4Press a button until the icon
is highlighted.
5Press the DO-IT button.
6Press a button until the Effect
option you want is highlighted.
qBlack & White—takes a black-and-
white picture.
qSepia Tone—takes a picture with a
reddish-br own cast.
qDocument—takes a picture with added
contrast so text stands out.
qNo Effect—takes a color picture.
7Press the DO-IT button.
The main Menu screen reappears.
8To cancel Effect, press a button
until No Effect is highlighted, then press
the DO-IT button, or turn off the camera.
