JCheck the electrical power tool for damage. Before the electrical power tool is used any fur- ther, carefully check the safety equipment or any slightly damaged parts to see that they are still working properly. Check that all moving parts on the tool are working properly, can move freely and are not damaged. All parts must be correctly attached and fulfil all the requirements necessary to allow the electrical power tool to operate properly. Damaged safety equipment and components should be repaired or replaced at a competent electrical equipment repair centre unless otherwise indi- cated in the operating instructions. Damaged switches must be replaced at a Customer Service Centre. Never use an electrical power tool that cannot be switched on and off properly.

Advice on structural engineering matters Slots in load-bearing walls:

Slots cut in load-bearing walls must comply with DIN 1053 Part 1 or the regulations applicable in your country.

Observe the requirements of these documents. Be- fore you start a task, seek the advice of a compe- tent structural engineer, architect or the relevant site management staff.

QAdvice on use

Note! Discs must be used only for their recommended purposes, otherwise they could disintegrate, become damaged or cause accidents.

Roughing discs

Never use cutting discs for roughing or grinding!

JMove the angle grinder using even pressure to and fro over the workpiece.

JHold the roughing or grinding disc at a flat angle to the workpiece when working on a soft material. Use a slightly steeper angle for harder materials.

against the direction of rotation of the disc. If you work in the

other direction there is the risk of kickback. The device may be forced out of the cut.

QOriginal accessories / attachments

JUse only the accessories and attachments de- tailed in the operating instructions. The use of parts or accessories other than those recom- mended in the operating instructions could lead to you suffering an injury.

QPreparing for use

Take note of the mains voltage. The mains voltage at the mains socket must match that shown on the rating plate on the device. Devices marked with 230 V can also be operated at 220 V.

JPull the mains plug out of the mains socket be- fore you carry out any task on the device.

mDanger of injury! Always use the angle grinder with the disc guard cover in place. The disc guard cover must be securely attached to the angle grinder. To ensure the highest level of safety while using the device, ensure that the smallest possible area of the grinding or cutting tool is exposed to the operator at all times. The disc guard cover is there to protect the operator from pieces breaking off and accidental contact
