warning Memory card is locked. appears on the

monitor.

Subject is too close.

Focus signal is red.

Unlock the memory card using the write-protect switch (p. 19).

Make sure the subject is within the autofocus range (p. 26).

Pictures are not sharp.

Pictures are taken indoors or in low-light situations without flash.

A special situation is preventing the autofocus system from focusing (p. 27).

Slow shutter speeds result in blurred images when the camera is hand- held.

Use the focus-lock function to focus on an object at the same distance as the subject (p. 26).

Use a tripod, change the camera sensitivity to a higher setting (p. 47), or use the flash (p. 28).

While using flash, the pictures are too dark.

Subject appears too far to the right in the image.

The subject is beyond the flash range (p. 47).

Viewfinder was used for framing. Parallax is apparent with subjects closer than 1m (3ft.) at the zoom’s wide-angle position or 3m (10ft) at the telephoto position.

Move closer to the subject or change the camera sensitivity to a higher setting (p. 47).

Only use the LCD monitor for framing with close subjects.
