BALANCEand LEVEL

Wheneither the "12 or the "R" on the Balancecontrol button is pressedon the remote, the Balanceled on the KAV-250p will illuminate andthe volumecontrol leds convertto a Balancecontrol indicator. The

centerled (Level) will alwaysremaindimly illuminated indicating the center balance position.Asbalanceis adjustedeitherleft or

right, anothermorebrightly lit led illumi- natesto indicate the nowmodifiedbalance setting.After5 secondsof inactivityor a vol- umeadjustment,the ledsrevert backto vol- umecontrol indicators. If the Balancehas beenset to an off-center position, the Balanceled will remainlit after the adjust- mentperiod. If returned to a centered Balancedposition, the Balancedled will extinguishafter the adjustmentperiod.

MUTE(front panelonly)

Pressthe input buttonof the active source to mutethe output.

UNMUTE(front panel only)

Pressthe input buttonof the active source againto unmutethe input. If the active sourceis changedwhile the KAV-250pis muted,press the input button of the new active sourcea secondtime to unmutethe KAV-250p.

MUTE(remotecontrol only)

Pressthe mutebuttonof the remoteto mute the outputof the activesource.

UNMUTE(remote control only)

Press the mutebutton of the remote to unmutethe outputof the active source.

NOTE:Whenthe muteled on the KAV-250p is illuminated,thereis nosignaloutput.

BatteryInstallation andRemoval

NOTE:Batteries should be replaced when functions from the remotecontrol become intermittent. TheKAV-250premoteuses twoAAAsize 1.5 volt batteries.

1.Removethe backplate to exposethe batteries.

2.Removethe old batteries.

3.Install the newbatteries, following the battery position diagramon the plastic batteryreceptacle.

4.Re-installthe backplate.

5.Checkto makesure the remotecontrol is functioningproperly.
