■3.1.2. BIG (Concatenation)
In Big mode, the two physical disks are combined (concatenation) so that one single yet larger logical vol- ume mounts on the desktop, offering maximum possible capacity (the available capacities of each disk are cumu- lated).
important info: If one physical disk fails, the data of both disks become inaccessible.
Offers the maximum possible capacity by combining the capacities of two drives into one large volume.
■3.1.3. JBOD
In JBOD mode (Just a Bunch of Disks), the two physical disks work as two independent hard drives in one single housing so that two logical volumes mount on the desktop.
important info: If one physical disk fails, its data are become inaccessible, but the second disk continues to work independently.
