Transporting
!CAUTION
When traveling on public roads at night or during the day, use
accessorylights and devices for adequate warning to operator's
of other vehicles. Comply with all federal, state and local laws.
1. Foldback the front curtain.
2. Raisethe cutter bar so it is in a vertical position.
3. Lockthe transport ar m into the bracketwith pin.
4. Makesure the support leg is in the high position. See
Figure 3-1.
5. Approachthe disc mower from the rear making sure
the Slow Moving Vehicleemblem is visible to
oncoming traffic.
6. Selecta safe ground speed when transporting from
one area to another. When travelingon roadways,
transport in such a way that faster moving vehicles
may pass you safely.
7. Whentraveling over rough or hilly terrain, shift tractor
to a lower gear.
Operating Check List
In addition to design and configuration of equipment;
hazard control and accident prevention are dependent
upon the awareness, concern, prudence and proper
traininginvolved in their operation, transport, maintenance
and storage of equipment. Before beginning to cut the
following inspection should be performed.
IMPORTANT: Always disengage the tractor’s PTO
before raising the mower to transport position.
NOTE: When raising the mower to the transport
position be sure that PTO shaft does not contact
tractor or mower.
!DANGER
To avoid injury or death from entanglement in rotating
drivelines, the drive gearbox shields must be in place and
secure when operating.
!DANGER
Do not operate mower without the curtain completely in place
around the cutter bar. Do no lean against or stand on the
curtain.
Working Position
!WARNING
Beforelowering cutter bar, make sureno one is within 20 feet of
mower.
1. Lowermower using the tractor lift.
2. Retractcylinder and remove the pin from the ROAD
lock position. Foldthe transpor t lockar m and pin free
end to curtain support arm.
