The caliber of your Model 9422 is inscribed on left side of the barrel, toward the receiver. Three versions are currently made and will be marked one of these ways.

.22 S-L-L.R.This model is designed to handle .22 caliber Shorts, Longs or Long Rifle cartridges only. These can be inserted into the magazine in any order. This version of the Model 9422 rifle is not designed to handle 22WMR (magnum) cartridges. All variations of this model are designed to function best with 22 Long Rifle cartridges.

.22 L-L.R.Same as above but use of Shorts is

not recommended.

.22 WMR. This model is made to handle .22 caliber WMR (magnum) calibers only.
