The Winchester Model 9422 is also shown disassembled to the extent necessary in order to follow instructions contained in this book (see Figure 9 later in this manual). Throughout this manual the “action” refers to the mechanism of this rifle which loads and secures the cartridges in the chamber.
SERIAL NUMBER
The serial number is located in two places on your Model 9422: one on each half when disassembled (see Figure 3). One is on the bottom of the forward receiver/frame assembly (barrel half of the rifle) toward the front. The other is just rearward of the first one, on the rear receiver/frame assembly (buttstock half of the rifle). Record the serial number at the front of this book for future reference.
