Playing a DivX Movie FilePlaying a DivX Movie File
The Recorder can play Divx files on CD-R/RW or
DVD±R/RW discs. Before playing DivX files, read
“About DivX movie files” on the right colum.
1. Use v/Vto select a folder, and press ENTER.
Alist of files in the folder appears.
2. Use v/Vto select a file then press PLAY (N).
Playback starts. You can use variable playback
functions. Refer to pages 28-31.
3. Press STOP (x)to stop the playback. The Movie
menu appears.
Note:
This recorder cannot play back the DivX file(s) in the
Memory card.

Notice for displaying the DivX subtitle

Please refer to following notice when the DivX
subtitle does not display properly.
1. Press SETUP.
The Setup menu appears.
2. Use v/ V / b/ Bto select [LANGUAGE] b [Disc
Subtitle] then find a suitable language for the DivX
subtitle.

About DivX movie files

DivX disc compatibility with this recorder is limit-
ed as follows:
•Available resolution size of the DivX file is under
720x576 (W x H) pixel.
The file name of the DivX subtitle is available by 47
characters.
If there is impossible code to express in the DivX
file, it may be displayed as “ _ “ mark on the dis-
play.
If the number of the screen frame is over 30 per 1
second, this unit may not operate normally.
If the video and audio structure of recorded file is
not interleaved, either video or audio is outputted.
This recorder does not support GMC.
Playable DivX file: “.avi”, “.divx”
Playable DivX subtitle: “.smi”, “.srt”,
“.sub (Micro DVD, Subviewer 1-2 format only)”,
“.txt (Micro DVD, T1-4 format only)”
Divx subtitle except those listed above is not dis-
played on the TV screen.
Playable Codec format: “DIVX3.xx”, “DIVX4.xx”,
“DIVX5.xx”, “XVID “, “3IVX”.
Playable Audio format: “Dolby Digital”, “PCM”,
“MP3”, “DTS (DIGITALOUT only)”
Sampling frequency: within 8 - 48 kHz (MP3)
Bit rate: within 32 - 320kbps (MP3)
