UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) enables a Windows XP user to automatically discover peripheral devices by HTTP. When the UPnP functionality is enabled, the user can see the AP in My Network Places (the Network Neighborhood) of Windows XP. The AP can be given a friendly name that will be shown in My Network Places.
