Remote control connection

Getting

When you use this unit connected to a Marantz amplifier, this unit receives operation signals sent from the amplifier and operates accordingly.

nConnection

Use the supplied remote connection cable to connect the REMOTE CONTROL IN terminal of this unit to REMOTE CONTROL OUT terminal of the amplifier.

nSetting

Set the remote control switch on the rear panel of this unit to “EXTERNAL” to use this feature.

Playback of MP3 and WMA files

There are many music distribution sites on the Internet allowing you to download music files in MP3 or WMA (Windows Media® Audio) formats. The music (files) downloaded from such sites can be stored on CD-R or CD-RW discs and played on the unit.

This setting will disable remote sensor reception of this unit.

To operate the unit, point the remote control at the remote sensor of the amplifier.

To use this unit without connecting it to the amplifier, set the remote control switch to “INTERNAL”.

Set to “EXTERNAL.”

Before playback using a USB memory device or iPod

1 Press <ON/STANDBY>.

2 Connect the USB memory device or iPod cable to the USB terminal.

NOTE

When a USB memory device is connected to this unit, the files recorded onto the USB memory device are read. The time needed to read the files depends on the size of the files on the USB memory device. If the maximum number of files and folders are recorded onto the device, it may take a few minutes to read all of the files.

To turn off the power to this unit, stop playback on the USB memory device or iPod before turning the power off.

CD-R and CD-RW discs created in the format described below can be played.

When written in other formats, it may not be possible to play the disc properly.
