la tension des fibres du bois se relâche. S Enlevez régulièrement les branches de l’endroit où vous marchez pour éviter de

tomber dessus.

ELAGAGE

S Elaguez toujours un arbre après l’avoir coupé. Sinon vous ne pourrez pas l’éla- guer en toute sécurité et correctement.

SLaissez les plus grosses branches sous

l’arbre abattu pour le maintenir pendant que vous travaillez.

S Démarrez à la base de l’arbre abattu et montez vers la cime, en coupant les peti- tes et les grosses branches. Enlevez les petites branches en une seule coupe.

SLa chaîne doit toujours se trouver près du tronc.

SEnlevez les plus grosses branches avec

la technique de coupe décrite dans la sec- tion DÉBITAGE SANS SUPPORT.

SCoupez toujours les petites branches dé- gagées par dessus. En coupant par des- sous les branches risqueraient de tomber et de se prendre dans la tronçonneuse.

TAILLE

AVERTISSEMENT: Ne taillez pas

des branches au dessus du niveau de vos épaules. Ne coupez aucune branche se trouvant au--dessus de vos épaules. Faites appel à un professionnel.

SFaites votre première coupe au tiers en partant du bas de la branche.

SLa seconde coupe traverse toute la branche. Enfin, la troisième coupe par dessus laissant une bague de 2 à 5 cm à partir du tronc.
