Troubleshooting

This section includes possible solutions to common problems that you may experience with your DVD recorder.

Problem

DVD recorder displays “HELLO” after the power is turned on, but no functions can be used.

No power, no signal.

The unit turns off by itself.

The disc tray can’t be closed, or the disc tray comes out automatically after placing a disc in it.

No playback

Possible Cause

Primary setup has not been completed.

Power cord is not properly connected to the power outlet.

TV is not correctly connected to the DVD recorder.

Automatic power off function: the power is automatically turned off after 20 minutes have passed in stop mode.

Disc is not inserted correctly in the tray.

Disc is too dirty.

Regional code of the disc is not correct.

Power is OFF.

No disc is inserted (“no disc” will be shown on screen).

Disc is upside down (“no disc” is shown on screen).

Dirty disc.

Deformed disc.

Condensation in unit.

Solution

Complete the primary setup before playback (see page 23).

Make sure the plug is properly inserted in the power outlet.

Refer to the connection drawings starting on page 11 to make sure that the TV is properly connected.

Turn the power back on.

Take the disc out of the tray and replace it carefully.

Clean the disc.

Check the disc packaging to confirm the regional code is correct (see page 50).

Turn the power ON.

Insert a disc.

Reload disk - the label side should face upward.

Clean disc surface.

Replace disc.

Turn power on for 1-2 hours before using the unit.
