SAFETY MEASURES

•Connect mains adapter to 230 V, 50 Hz sockets only.
•Do not immerse the appliance, cable or adapter in water or any other liquid.

•Always disconnect from the mains and switch off at the on/off button before removing the cutting head and/or cleaning the appliance
•Check that the comb is set at the correct distance before switching on.
•Keep an eye on any children in the vicinity of the appliance when it is in use. Children must not be allowed to use the appliance unless supervised by an adult.
•The lubricating oil contains petroleum. Do not ingest.
•This appliance is not suitable for commercial or outdoor use.
•Do not expose to temperatures under 0 ºC or over +40 ºC or to direct sunlight.
•Check that cable and adapter are free of defects every time you use the appliance.
•Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped or damaged in any other way.
•Never try to repair the appliance yourself.
•If the appliance, cable or plug needs to be repaired, it should be taken to an authorised service centre. Unauthorised repairs or modifications will invalidate the guarantee. Please contact the store where you bought the appliance for repairs under guarantee.

USE
Prior to first use
Before using the first time, fully charge the battery (See Battery Charging below), which takes approx. 8 hours (first time approx. 24 hours). Lubricate the cutting head (5) with
Using the trimmer
The trimmer can be used with or without a comb attachment, depending on the hair length required (see table below).
1. Fit comb attachment required (9 or 10):
oInsert guides into slots on trimmer, and press firmly into place until you hear a click.
oRemove comb by pressing down once more, grip the guides and pull (may be a tight fit)
2.Set hair length required using the two buttons on side of trimmer (3).
3.Switch on using the on/off button (6) and commence trimming.

Can be used powered directly via mains if battery not charged.
1.Insert jack on end of cable (1) into socket on bottom of trimmer.
2.Place adapter (1) in mains socket.
3.Proceed as described above.
NB! If the trimmer does not work when connected to mains and battery is flat, switch off and recharge for 5 minutes. It will then work powered via the mains.
Battery charging
1.Insert jack on end of cable into socket on base of trimmer or behind black part of base
(2).
2.Plug in to mains.
3.Check trimmer is switched off (set on/off button to 0).
oRed LED (7) will be lit during recharging.
oBattery indicator (8) consists of 5 green LEDs indicating battery capacity at 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100% respectively during charging and use. Battery capacity during charging will be indicated by a blinking LED. When 100% battery capacity is attained, all 5 LEDs will be constantly lit.
oWhen charging is complete, the charging indicator will blink for 5 minutes to indicate full charge. Battery indicator will remain lit until appliance is removed from base or cable is detached.
oBattery will begin to charge when appliance is returned to base and base is connected to mains. To avoid charging, disconnect adapter from mains.
oWhen battery is flat, charge indicator will blink to indicate recharging is necessary.
oWhen battery is fully charged, the trimmer can operate for approx. 45 minutes.
Removing battery
1.Run battery until completely discharged.
2.Remove cutting head.
3.Remove screws on back of trimmer and separate the two halves.
4.Remove printed circuit board.
5.Cut wire between PCB and battery. Remove battery.
NB! For maximum operating time, recharge when performance becomes noticeably reduced.
Tips
•Check the required comb attachment is fitted and set to required length.
•Hold trimmer with flat side of comb attachment to head, and move in slow, even movements through the hair.
•Start with sides or neck. Work towards centre of head. Trim fringe by moving trimmer from forehead towards centre of head.
•Brush hair cuttings regularly away from head to see progress.
•Shake hair regularly from trimmer.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
• Brush cutting head and comb attachments using the small cleaning brush (12) after each use. Remove cutting head if necessary:
oCheck trimmer is switched off.
oGrip cutting head front edge, pull backwards.
oBrush recess under cutting head.
oReplace cutting head by inserting black tongue on back of head into hole in trimmer, and push until you hear a click.

•Clean outside of trimmer using a damp cloth. Do not use detergents of any kind.
