Charging the Battery Pack
Therechargeable Nickel-Cadmium battery pack must be fully
chargedbefore using your phone for the first time. Before
pluggingthe phone line into your new phone, you must
chargethe battery for approximately 15-20 hours
withoutinterruption.
1. Removethe handset battery cover. (For initial charging, the
batterypack will already be inside the compartment, but
willnot be plugged in.)
2. Plugthe battery’s cable
intothe handset.
3. Replacethe battery cover.

Placethe handset on the
baseto charge. (The
handsetcan charge in
eitherthe face-up or
face-downposition.)

Whenthe battery pack in the handset
islow and needs to be charged, the
BATTLOW
LEDflashes every 3 seconds.
Ifthis occurs while you are on the
phone,you will hear an alert tone.
Completeyour call as quickly as
possible,and return the handset to
thebase for charging.

Tomaintain a good
charge,it is important
toclean all battery
contactson the handset
andbase about once a
month.Use a pencil eraser
orother contact cleaner.
Donot use any liquids
orsolvents.
Selecting a Location
Beforechoosing a location for your new phone, read the
“InstallationConsiderations” included in the “Precautions and
ImportantSafety Instructions” brochure.

areawhere it may create a trip hazard or
becomechafed and create a fire or
electricalhazard.
NOTETheplastic connectors will fit together only one
way.Make sure the battery’s connector is
properlyaligned. Use only the battery pack
(modelBT-905) supplied with your phone.

positionfor
pulsedialing.
